ANTIPOLO CITY—PLDT used a late-game rally to cruise to a second consecutive win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after sweeping Galeries Tower, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23, Tuesday night at Ynares Center here.

The High Speed Hitters once again turned to the returning Savi Davison who came up with a game-high 28 points built on 26 attacks and two blocks for PLDT’s second consecutive win in as many games.

After dominating the first two sets, the Highrisers attempted to force a fourth set with a 15-21 lead before PLDT woke up to erase the deficit with a 10-2 run and complete the scrubbing.

“We shouldn’t have let it get to that point where they could catch up, even though we controlled the start. The reminder to the team, like in the game against Nxled, is that just because we’re up 2-0 doesn’t mean we can relax,” said coach Rald Ricafort, referring to the Chameleons who managed to extend that previous match before PLDT secured the win.

“It wasn’t intentional, but maybe they became too relaxed, leading to those runs. We’re happy we still got the win, but hopefully, we can find ways to avoid that next time,” Ricafort added.
